Thriller Opening- Dress code for Tuesday 15th Nov

We are filming the first bit of our film tomorrow, the start where the girl is playing on the lawn in the past when she is alive. I will be wearing socks pulled up and at different levels to represent innocence, lace up shoes with one lace undone again to represent innocence. I will be wearing dungarees as this is a typical thing for a small child, and my hair in bunches.

Thriller Opening- Where to buy the costumes

http://www.oxfam.org.uk/ - This is the link to a well known charity shop Oxfam. We have decided it would be a good idea to get props and costumes that we don't already have hold of from a charity shop, this will be a good cause and help some people out when also being  our supplier of the things we need. I belive we can find what we need from a charity shop, cheap prices and clothes we wont be afraid to get messes resolves a problem for us. I will be the person in charge of the costumes and props, but my teammates also want to buy from here or another charity shop.

Here is our groups final piece of music for our thirller opening

We looked on various websites that allow downloading of free music, but after a group disscussion we decided to create our own. With an apsiering DJ in our group it was the perfect opportunity to create something fresh, new and unique and use skills we had in the group. We used a softwere called 'Garage Band' to create this and it took around 2 hours to finish the piece to how we want it. I am excited about using this music as its completely our own! take a listen from the second link above :)

My team mate has wrote about that characters we are including in our opening. We chose to use a child in it because i think it always add to the creepiness and fear factor if they are possessed and not normal because people have a lot of emotional attachment to cute kids.

We needed to have a delivery to make an excuse for someone to come to the house so we picked a pizza delivery boy as they would delivering at night.

The father has to be in it to make it creepy about the unknown girl upstairs...He reacts uncertain and scared byt the information deliverd by the piza delivery boy about his daughter being upstairs, even tho she is dead.

I am very happy with the idea that my group have come up with, it is exciting and spooky and I'm even a bit scared to be in it! The idea of using a child was introduced by me as i think this is always a key way it engage involvement from all ages of audiences. Younger generations will connect as they are closer to the young persons age, and the age of the delivery boy. Older ladies and gentlemen will connect with it due to the fact that most would know what it feels like to be a parent and the thought of a lost, dead or possessed child is often creepy and petrifying. I believe we have got the balance right. We will have this as an 18+ movie, meaning it's probably going to contain alot of gorey stuff and abusive language not sensible for younger people.

I think the idea we have, mixed with the setting we are filming it in will create a very successful opening to our Thriller using typical thriller conventions. We have a sense of sleepy hollow in our opening, the way it's set in the middle of nowhere creates the perfect atmosphere and tension. 

Game Show Idea

We are having two areas for our games show. A obstacle course, and then a series of questions. The questions will be held inside a building and the obstacle course is outside, on top of clear blue water, this is taking inspiration for such game shows as 'Total Wipeout' and 'Who wants to be a millionarre' The more questions you get right at the start for the game, the easier the course is at this end. This is aimed at families and will be shown on a competitive TV station at 7.00pm. Our color scheme is blue and red, this is to represent danger and peace, peace once you get to the end of the course and win a lump sum of money depending on your success, and danger to make people fear the unknown of the outside course. Inside is a red theme when the questions are being asked to put the contestants under pressure and blue outside, a little contrast and calmer, knowing the end in insight, this is probably the opposite to typical game shows, as they would put the danger at the end.
Our game show hosts are going to be John and Edward Grimes as we think they are a very typical favorite for families of all ages, they are comical and right for what we want. They will be dressed in opposite the color of there base, one will be outside wearing red and commentating the contestants on there way around the course, and the other inside asking the questions wearing blue.

Thriller Opening- Location And Pictures

My teammate has collected some pictures of our location which is located just outside of Reepham. Its a large house with a long, flowing driveway. It is an old building with lots of windows. On the property it owns a indoor swimming pool with glass panelling windows, we will be using this in our opening. This is just such a perfect location for our thriller and i cannot wait to start working here! We will be using the outside garden to film a short clip for the start of our opening. We will film when there is bare minimum daylight but not complete darkness. Its is quiet and secluded. Perfect!

Thriller Opening- Costumes, Props and Objects

We are not using many props in our thriller opening, which is quite easy. We will need to have a pizza box,   a teddy bear, a bicycle, a ball/Frisbee and a hose.

We need to have a pizza box due to he fact that one of our main characters will be a pizza delivery boy, he will have to have a pizza to deliver so we need to get hold of a pizza box which should be fairly easy to get hold of.

The teddy bear will be for the child character we are having where ever the child is standing, the teddy will be by her side hanging holding one hand lopsided almost dead like. I think it just adds the extra innocence to the child character.

The hose is to create rain if it isn't already raining, it will be sprayed over the pizza delivery boy as he is going up the driveway, we believe this will create tension and add to the typical horror convections.

A bike is purely for a mode of transport for the pizza delivery boy as he pedals down the driveway.

A ball/frisbee is purely for the use in the first clip we are having of the young girl playing, we are doing this  to make out that she has died in a indirect way.

We won't need to be to dramatic with our costumes. The young girl will be wearing a loose nightgown to add the the fact that she's young, innocent and also adds again i think typical thriller convections. We will get this from a charity shop. The pizza boy will have a cap on his head, wearing a polo shirt and some jeans, this will be easy to get hold of, our actor will just wear his own things because he has all of this. The actor playing the father will need to have a tank top over a shirt, some jeans and glasses, our actor for this part is also supplying these from his own wardrobe.

We will be using make-up, hair gel and hairspray in the making of our characters, i have all the equipment for this and it will be minimal but effective in the light and for the camera.
